According to a report by foreign media Cointelegraph, the fake news originated from a tweet from X account Basedkarbon, and Saylor's reposts have attracted multiple cryptocurrency community accounts, including Kraken and Bitcoin Archive.

This controversial statement was first released by Basedkarbon on October 28. The account said that Trump said in a recent interview that "cryptocurrency should not be taxed" and "Bitcoin is a currency". This news was later reposted by Good Morning Crypto on October 29th, and then Saylor released it to its 3.6 million followers on October 30th, attracting the attention of multiple high-profile accounts.

Regarding this, Basedkarbon commented on Saylor's tweet on October 30th:

Not taxing cryptocurrencies is a microcosm of how information operates. The reason why things become true is only because someone claims it to be true, and the whole world is actually just people speaking and making it a reality

The implication that the message he spread is unfounded, but as people begin to believe and spread it, regardless of its authenticity, this claim will be considered true.

In the past week, Trump gave two interviews to the podcast host Joe Rogan and Fox News Sean Hannity. Although Trump mentioned the possibility of abolishing the federal income tax in Joe Rogan's program, he did not discuss the cryptocurrency policy.
